Impumelelo has partnered with Morné Oosthuizen from the UCT Research Department, to develop improved methodology and scoring indices. To qualify for consideration into Impumelelo, companies must comply with the seven pillars of broad based black economic empowerment as well as having a minimum annual turnover. Furthermore, to ensure consistency and fairness, companies are grouped according to size, namely those with a minimum annual turnover of R50-million and those with an annual turnover below R50-million.
